Get Ready for Film Day!

2022 — PRESENT

Personal Appearance

First things first, let’s make sure you’re camera-ready:

✔ Get a haircut (if needed) – Fresh, clean-cut hair always looks best on video.
✔ Groom your nails – If your hands will be visible, make sure they look clean and well-maintained.
✔ Dress for your brand – Wear clean, professional clothing that represents your business. Avoid busy patterns, logos (unless it’s your own brand), and overly reflective materials. Solid colors usually work best.
✔ Hydrate and get a good night’s sleep – You want to look and feel your best on film day!

2020 — 2022

Your Business Space

Your environment matters just as much as your personal appearance. We want your business to look its absolute best on camera, so here’s what to do before we arrive:

✔ Clean and organize all filming areas – Whether it’s your office, showroom, shop, or workspace, make sure it’s tidy, clutter-free, and presentable.
✔ Remove any distractions – Hide any unnecessary cables, papers, or personal items that don’t belong in the shot.
✔ Stage the space for success – If possible, add branding elements like signage, product displays, or anything that visually reinforces your business identity.
✔ Good lighting matters – If your space has windows, make sure blinds or curtains are adjusted to let in natural light without creating harsh shadows.

2018 — 2020

Team & Staff Preparation

If your team members are going to be in the videos, make sure they’re prepared too!

✔ Inform all staff who will be on camera – They should know their roles and be comfortable with what we’re filming.
✔ Dress professionally & on-brand – Just like you, they should be polished and presentable for the shoot.
✔ Avoid last-minute surprises – Let your team know when and where we’ll be filming so everything stays on schedule.

2018 — 2020

Scripts, Talking Points & Energy

If you’ll be speaking on camera, don’t stress! You don’t need to memorize anything, but it helps to be familiar with your key talking points. Here’s what I recommend:

✔ Know your core messages – We’ll guide you through everything, but it helps to have a general idea of what you want to say.
✔ Be natural and authentic – Don’t worry about being perfect—just speak like you’re having a conversation with a potential client.
✔ Bring high energy – Video captures energy, so bring your A-game! A little extra enthusiasm goes a long way on camera.
